Two South Americans and one European: the teams that could win the World Cup, according to mathematics

Known the selections that will go to the World Cup Qatar 2022 (except some for the playoffs) and the groups, were revealed to the possible countries that could win the most important competition in football. According to mathematical predictions, there are two teams from South America and one from Europe.

From a study based on the Elo rating system, the same one used in chess, the chances of each team winning the World Cup were calculated and the results showed that the three with the most chances are the following: Brazil, Argentina Y France.

The elements considered for this prediction were how the Qatar 2022 groups were defined, the position in the FIFA Ranking of each of the countries and the possible crosses in defining keys of the World Cup.

Brazil is located in Group G with Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon; Argentina in Group C with Mexico, Poland and Saudi Arabia; and France in Group D with Denmark, Tunisia and the winner of the playoff between Conmebol and Asia that could be Peru or Australia/United Arab Emirates.

WHEN IS THE PLAYBACK FOR QATAR 2022?

The playoff would be played between June 13 and 14. It will be a single match in Doha, Qatar.
