Pedro Troglio leaves San Lorenzo: DT resigned after elimination in Copa Argentina

Pedro Troglio’s story on the San Lorenzo bench came to an end this Wednesday. This follows from the Argentine’s statements after the defeat against Central Córdoba in a penalty shootout and elimination in the round of 32 finals of the Argentine Cup.

“Beyond the fact that they (the directors) asked me to wait until May, until the end of the tournament, but the tournament is a month away, there is not a game missing. There are five games left, it’s a month, it’s a long time. I can’t see on the pitch what one needs to see and, logically, this is the responsibility of the coach. I wanted to be here, but not at any cost either. I thought it could be changed, unfortunately it has not been changed”declared Troglio before the press.

Minutes after what was expressed by the DT, in the official accounts of San Lorenzo they indicated: “Pedro Troglio decided to resign from the position of coach of San Lorenzo. The practice this Thursday afternoon will be directed by Fernando Berón”.

Due to his poor results in Argentine soccer, the possible arrival of Pedro to the technical direction of the Honduran national team, a country where he was successful last season, directing Olimpia, has been rumored for several days.

With Olimpia, Troglio managed to win 4 consecutive titles, being the first coach to achieve that statistic in Honduran soccer. Due to those statistics he was hired by San Lorenzo.
