The Life Lima 42K Marathon returns: race will be held on September 11 based on the Lima 2019 route

It had become an icon of sports activity and now it returns with everything after its stoppage due to the pandemic. The Life Lima 42K Marathon announced that this 2022 will be run on September 11.

It was organized for the first time in 2009 and in a decade it was consolidated as the marathon for all lovers of running. However, the pandemic brought everything to a standstill.

This last Thursday the return of the competition was made official, considered one of the fastest in Latin America for the 42 kilometers. On September 11 of this year, the routes in the city will reopen.

The great novelty will be that a new route will be taken based on the route used in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, a flat route with steps through different tourist places in the capital.

In the last edition that was held, in 2019, it was possible to have 16 thousand runners on the route. For this return, it is expected to reach 18 thousand participants in the total of the three modalities that will compete: 10K, 21K and 42K.

“We want to bring together all lovers of running and sports in general, in an unprecedented event that generates community and love for sports. All participants will have the opportunity to compete alongside the great figures of running in what we hope will be the fastest marathon in Latin America,” said Guillermo Byrne Labarthe, director of Marketing for adidas, organizer of the race.

Thus, lovers of running from Peru and Latin America will be able to have an event in Lima that has the certifications of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), to demonstrate their talent. in this sport.
