Real Madrid on the prowl: Tuchel announced that Rudiger is leaving Chelsea at the end of the season

Real Madrid and other major European clubs are rubbing their hands over the revelation about the Antonio Rudiger case at Chelsea. This Sunday, after the agonizing victory over West Ham (1-0) in the Premier League, Thomas Tuchel announced that the center-back had announced the decision to leave the institution at the end of the season.

“The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this in a private conversation”, revealed the ‘Blues’ strategist in a chat with the Sky Sports network. Immediately, the German coach explained that he and the high command of the Londoners made an effort to convince the footballer to remain at Stamford Bridge.

“We gave everything, the club and I, but we couldn’t fight anymore for the shares. Without the sanctions we could at least continue fighting, but with our hands tied. We don’t take it personally. It is your decision”Tuchel added in reference to the punishment that Chelsea received.

Later, the German coach regretted Rudiger’s departure. “He is a key figure and will continue to be until the end of the season. But he is disappointing. We will miss him very much. He gives courage in the locker room. The type that everyone fears, but the type to play 50-55 games at an outstanding level. He is a great defender in the last year and a half for me”he pointed.

Without the defender, Tuchel admitted that they will work for “find another solution”. Of course, the Teuton stated that, until the end of the 2021-2022 there is no “no worries” about ‘Toni’s’ commitment to the team. In fact, the technician confessed what he spoke with the defender: “He has said that he will play with everything he has until the end of the season”.

Rudiger’s ‘no’ to Chelsea

Tuchel indicated that they did their best to retain Rudiger. In fact, the Telegraph media gave details of the offer presented by the ‘Blues’. According to the newspaper, the proposal would consist of a contract of 200 thousand pounds a week, which in exchange is about 11.5 million euros per season.

The English club thought that a salary of 236,000 euros per week was going to be enough to convince him, but they finally rejected it, to the surprise of the London leaders. In fact, the source indicates that the ‘Blues’ put more on the table than what Real Madrid presented to the German international.
