He is confident that he will have a new opportunity. Mauricio Pochettino was blunt this Thursday about his continuity at Paris Saint-Germain. The current coach of the Parisian team maintained that the chances that both he and Kylian Mbappé will continue in the team next season is “100%”.
When asked about the percentage of options to continue, both he and the French striker, whose contract ends next June, assured: “One hundred percent in both cases.”
But immediately afterwards he qualified his statements, given that Mbappé, desired by Real Madrid, continues without extending his contract with PSG, which ends in June: “It is what I feel, what I perceive. In this football you don’t know what can happen, but I respond thinking about what I feel”.
With a contract until 2023 but questioned despite the Ligue 1 title, Pochettino could leave PSG at the end of the season as the team seeks to give a new lease of life to its sporting project for next season.
The Argentine coach assured that he has not talked about the future with the management and that he keeps his job “naturally” thinking “in the present, but also in the future”.
”We have an experience now that is important if we know how to capitalize on it. There are many things that we have learned in this year and a half that are not perceived from the outside. Everything will be turned over to the leaders in order to improve”, he pointed.
Leonardo did not ensure the continuity of Pochettino
The sports director Leonardo did not confirm the continuity of the Argentine, declaring on Saturday that he wanted “talk to everyone, not only with the coach but also with the players to clarify the situation and decide on the strategy”highlighted the Brazilian leader, without commenting on the future of Pochettino.
