Raúl de Tomás, the unexpected name that sounds to reinforce Real Madrid’s forward

In Real Madrid’s agenda with a view to the 2022-2023 season there are some areas to promote. The offense is one of them and, as everyone knows, Kylian Mbappé seems closer than ever. However, Carlo Ancelotti needs a benchmark in the area and that is why the alternative of Erling Haaland emerged. However, the Norwegian has been linked with Manchester City.

In case the ‘Cyborg’ chooses to go to England, the ‘Whites’ already have another alternative and it is a man of the house: Raúl de Tomás, according to the newspaper AS. The 27-year-old striker completed his training period with the capital team and was even able to make his debut with the professional team, although he did not have the desired continuity.

In fact, the current Espanyol player spent it on loan to add minutes. Until, in July 2019, he closed his incorporation with Benfica. In Portugal, however, he stood out little and returned to Spain to join the ranks of the ‘Periquitos’. Since 2020, the ‘9’ has stood out in attack converting 43 goals in 85 games: an average of one goal every two commitments.

The situation with ‘RdT’, as he is known in his country, is simpler than with Haaland from the economic point of view and the negotiations. The attacker has a contract signed until 2026 with Barcelona and a clause of 70 million. However, the operation can be closed between 30 and 40 ‘kilos’.

Raúl de Tomás, with Karim Benzema as the leading figure in attack, would return to the Santiago Bernabéu to occupy the spaces left by Mariano Díaz and Luka Jovic. Both players do not count for ‘Carletto’ Ancelotti and he has already asked the club to resolve their cases to incorporate a new offensive element.

And Borja Mayoral?

Like Raúl de Tomas, Borja Mayoral is another man who knows the house perfectly. The striker was at Roma in Serie A, but left on loan to Getafe in the winter market this year. With the ‘Azulones’, the attacker has scored a total of six conquests and provided an assist in 664 minutes. That performance is followed by Real Madrid, who would think of him as another option for the forward.
