France will know its last opponent after the play-offs organized in Qatar

See you in Qatar on June 13 and 14. The last intercontinental play-offs for the 2022 World Cup will be organized on these dates in the Ahmad bin Ali stadium, FIFA announced on Wednesday. The enclosure located in Al Rayyan will host from June 7 the meeting Australia – United Arab Emirates. The winner of this game will face Peru on June 13, to find out who will join France, Denmark and Tunisia in Group D.

On June 14, Costa Rica will challenge New Zealand to join Group E, along with Spain, Germany and Japan. These two matches were scheduled for 9 p.m. local time, or 8 p.m. in France.

During the World Cup, from November 21 to December 18, the Ahmad ben Ali stadium will host six group matches as well as a round of 16. Exceptionally for a tournament whose draw has already taken place, three selections have yet to qualify for this World Cup, the first organized in an Arab country.

Scotland, Ukraine and Wales in the fight for a single place

The Scotland-Ukraine European play-off semi-final, postponed in March due to the Russian offensive, has been rescheduled for June 1 and its winner will face Wales on June 5 for a place in Qatar.
