The player with the most goals in knockout phases of the Champions League: Benzema equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record

Karim Benzema continues to make history real Madrid. With his goal against Manchester City in the semi-final second leg of the UEFA champions leaguethe Frenchman reached 10 touchdowns in the final rounds of the ‘Orejona’ and equaled the historical record of Cristiano Ronaldohis former partner.

The current Real Madrid striker scored three goals against PSG in the round of 16, four against Chelsea in the quarter-finals and three against Manchester City in the semi-finals to reach double figures in Champions League KOs.

Before Karim Benzema, the only ones who had achieved such a feat were Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016/17, Ferenc Puskás in 1959/60 and Alfredo Di Stéfano in 1957/58. All with a Real Madrid shirt.


In the current edition of the UEFA Champions League, Karim Benzema has a total of 15 goals and is just two behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who managed to score 17 in the 2013-14 season. Will he equal or surpass him in the final against Liverpool?
