Barcelona announced that Ronald Araújo was discharged, after the blow he suffered to the head

Barcelona achieved a comfortable victory over Celta de Vigo at the Camp Nou, for date 36 of LaLiga Santander, although not everything was calm for the team. Around 61 minutes, Ronald Araújo fainted on the field, after a headbutt with Gavi, and had to be taken by ambulance to a medical center.

The ‘Azulgranas’ took all possible precautions to ensure the health of the Uruguayan defender and updated the information through their official channels. Finally, after being treated for a few hours, it was learned that the seasoned footballer received authorization to leave the hospital.

“The complementary tests on the first team player Ronald Araujo have been satisfactory and he has been discharged from hospital. His evolution will mark his availability”, was the statement sent by Barcelona on Twitter, reassuring the club’s fans and the athlete’s relatives.

According to the report, the Uruguayan defender will continue to be monitored, to define his return to the courts in the near future. Let’s remember that there are only two dates left in LaLiga Santander and the ‘Culés’ will face Getafe and Villarreal, on May 15 and 22 respectively.

It is worth mentioning that Ronald Araújo has played 29 games in the Spanish tournament (24 starts) and scored four goals; while he added five appearances in the Champions League and another five in the Europa League. In addition, the defender had a presentation in the Spanish Super Cup and two in the Copa del Rey.

When does Barcelona play vs. Getafe?

Barcelona will return to activity this Sunday, May 15, when it visits Getafe, on date 37 of LaLiga Santander (11:30 am Peruvian time). The ‘Culés’ require a win to secure second place in the standings; while the ‘Azulones’ must win to completely escape relegation.
