River Plate beat Mineiro: FIFA ruled in favor of the Argentine club in the Nacho Fernández case

FIFA ruled in favor of River Plate and Atlético Mineiro will have to pay for Nacho Fernández: the Brazilians owe two installments for a total amount of 2.5M dollars and now they are obliged to pay them. Despite maintaining good relations, the Brazilian club refused to pay for the Argentine midfielder; however, the highest body in world football will force them to do so in the coming months.

These fertilizers had to have been given between August and December of last year; however, Mineiro’s delay caused the leadership headed by Jorge Brito not to wait any longer and initiate a formal lawsuit. FIFA gave them the reason and now both clubs must agree on a new schedule.

A few hours after it became known that River had raised the claim to FIFA last year, Atlético Mineiro issued a statement in which they recognized the debt and promised to pay it off. “It is a punctual delay, for an amount of 1.66 million dollars, motivated by the financial moment (cash flow) that the club has been going through since the end of 2021 and that worsened in the first four months of this year. As soon as the cash problem is resolved, the Gaul will make the payment due”they put.

That “aggravation” to which they refer is the interest charged for owing the payment: that is why the amount rose from 1,660,000 dollars to 2,500,000 dollars.

The operation for the departure of the steering wheel was closed for 5,800,000 net dollars for River’s coffers, which was partly paid at the time of signing once all the papers were approved.
