Luis Advíncula and Carlos Zambrano posed with the Professional League Cup trophy

Luis Advíncula and Carlos Zambrano lifted a new title with Boca Juniors. The soccer players of the Peruvian national team won the Argentine Professional League Cup after beating Tigres (3-0) at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium.

The winger played the entire game and his participation was remarkable when defending the right wing. For his part, the defender could not enter this match, but he added six games in this competition and thus, put his ‘grains of sand’ to reach the goal.

During the celebrations, the popular ‘Bolt’ joined the ‘Lion’ and posed with the trophy. The official SportsCenter page posted the image on its Twitter account and, in a matter of seconds, it went viral. In addition, many fans of the ‘Blanquirroja’ congratulated their compatriots.

It should be noted that Luis Advíncula arrived at La Bombonera in July 2021 and, in a few months, already has two titles with the institution. While Carlos Zambrano, who signed for the club in 2020, is part of the team with four championships (one Super League, two League Cups and one Argentine Cup).

Now, the next challenge for Boca Juniors will be in the Copa Libertadores. The ‘blue and gold’ are third in the Group E standings, behind Deportivo Cali and Corinthians. On Thursday they face the Colombians to find out if they can advance to the next stage of the tournament or not.

After the international duel to be played in Argentina, both Advíncula and Zambrano will have to focus on the Peruvian team. Both make up the squad list revealed by Ricardo Gareca for the playoff match against the representative of the Asian confederation.
