Qatar 2022: they estimate 200 thousand air travelers a day for the start of the World Cup

Almost half a year after the start of the World Cup Qatar 2022, the authorities of the Middle Eastern country estimate a large number of travelers who will arrive as tourists. Akbar al-Baker, president and CEO of Qatar Airways, indicated that the Doha airport will double its capacity.

To increase air traffic with the 31 countries qualified for the World Cup that begins in November, the flights of the countries that will not be present at the World Cup will be reduced or interrupted.

The airlines Oman Air, Kuwait Airways Saudia and Flydubai will increase their logistics to organize more than 160 round trip flights. All this is presumed to start from November 20.

Estimates indicate that approximately 1 million fans will arrive as tourists in Qatar for the duration of the competition. “The only people who will enter the country during the tournament will be those who have a Haya numerical card, which identifies that they will be present at a match”.

World Cup tour kicked off

From mid-October to the first week of November, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour will visit Latin America. Five countries are confirmed to receive the trophy as they have a direct ticket to the next World Cup: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador and Mexico.
