Santiago Ormeño feels motivated for the playoff: “I’ve had bitter drinks and that makes you flourish”

Santiago Ormeño still doesn’t know what it’s like to shout a goal with the Peruvian team. However, Ricardo Gareca showed that he has confidence in the León striker and, therefore, called him up for the playoff against Australia or the United Arab Emirates.

Minutes before leaving, the attacker expressed his happiness at being able to represent “Bicolor” again. “It is something very beautiful that I am going to have to live now. Excited for the call and for a new tournament in León. I am very happy and motivated, I feel very good football-wise. I hope the results we are looking for will come.” the attacker declared for the TV Azteca cameras.

In addition, the footballer took the opportunity to comment on the absence of Raúl Ruidíaz in the last call and assured that he was not surprised: “He hadn’t been called up before, but he’s an extraordinary player and he’s having a spectacular moment”.

Regarding the playoff duel, which will take place in Doha, Santiago Ormeño assured that the weather will be an important factor. “Obviously it’s not easy, but I think it will be the same for the rival team. It’s going to be something nice and we’ll go all out for that ticket.” said.

On the other hand, the striker revealed that he has formed a good relationship with Ricardo Gareca. “There is a lot of confidence. I’ve had bitter drinks and that makes you bloom. I hope to return to an excellent moment like the one I came from”, finished.
