Miami Heat Coach: “We don’t have a Game 7 every day, we’ll try to enjoy it to the fullest”

Game Seven. According to experts, the two most important words in professional sports in the United States. Tonight, the Boston Celtics will look for the epic at the home of the Miami Heat when they meet in Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Given this, El Comercio spoke with Heat coach Erik Spoelstra about the importance of this game and what it means to him as a coach.

Ime Udoka, coach of the Boston Celtics, has been able to deal with relevant situations in these PlayOffs. In his NBA coaching debut he has guided the Boston franchise to the Conference Finals; however, he was unable to get the best of his coaching in Game 6, in a loss to the Miami Heat.

This will lead him to face his first Game 7 as a coach. And the challenge is enormous: at the head will be Erik Spolestra, coach of the Miami Heat since 2008, with multiple championship rings and more than one Game 7 in his background as an NBA strategist.

The Miami Heat coach knows that he has experienced players on his roster and a technical staff that knows how to handle this type of situation. With Jimmy Butler as the offensive standard and PJ Tucker as the defensive leader, the Florida team will go out tonight with the mission of winning Game 7 at home and thereby getting a ticket to the NBA Finals.

I spoke with Coach Spo about what Game 7 means to him and his entire team: “It’s… it’s an opportunity. Yes, I would define it as such. As competitors that we are, it represents a great chance to show what we know how to do”.

“You don’t have a Game 7 every day or every week. Not even a postseason guarantees you a Game 7. So when an opportunity like this presents itself, you have to make the most of it.”, affirmed the coach of the Miami Heat,

Lastly, he said the following: “I know my team. I know I have very competitive players. That’s why I know we’re going to go all out, we want to take it all in this Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.”
