Boca Juniors returns to the fray for Christian Cueva, they report in Argentina

The soccer level of Boca Juniors is on the rise throughout the season and confidence in coach Sebastián Battaglia’s project increased, after winning the Professional League Cup title and qualifying for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Although there were good results, the board is also looking to strengthen the squad and one name comes up again: Christian Cueva.

For quite some time, the midfielder of the Peruvian team has generated interest in the “Xeneize”, although there were no major developments at the time. However, this time the Argentine club will try to take advantage of a contractual detail to try to get the services of the talented footballer.

As reported by TyC Sports, the leadership of Boca Juniors knows that Christian Cueva will end his current relationship with Al-Fateh on June 30 and therefore will seek to initiate contact. In addition, the same source highlights that the possible transfer is seen favorably by Juan Román Riquelme, vice president and sports director of the ‘Azul y Oro’.

However, the transaction will not be easy for the Argentine institution, given that the Arab club has a two-year offer to extend ‘Aladino’s’ contract.

For now, the resolution of the issue will have to wait, since Cueva is training with the Peruvian team, with a view to the playoff for the Qatar 2022 World Cup (June 13). Everything indicates that Christian will study his future after the outcome of the classification process.

Cave Numbers in Arabia

Christian Cueva is in his second season with the Al-Fateh shirt and has shown great performance in the Saudi Arabian Professional League: he has eight goals and five assists in the 2021-22 season. The midfielder has not only grown in football, but also physically, and shows his worth with the Peruvian team: he scored five goals and two assists in the Qualifiers.
