In a historic event, the Spanish Football Federation announced on Tuesday that its men’s and women’s teams will earn the same in economic incentives. Hereinafter, “the premiums they receive are equalized in percentages”, reported the RFEF as part of an agreement that “will be valid until 2027″.
Also, “the image rights that the soccer players will receive are regularized and improved and significant improvements are agreed in the working conditions of the Spanish soccer team”, added the agency.

The pact was staged at an event held at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas attended by the federative president, Luis Rubiales, and the members of the national team who are concentrated there to prepare for Euro 2022, which will be played this summer in England.
”What we have closed is an agreement that will last five years, with the next two European Championships and the next two World Cups ahead of us. Also the Games if we qualify”, detailed the boss of Spanish football.
Regarding premiums, he stated: “It is an agreement very similar to that of the boys but with a correction factor that we believe is more than fair. We must promote women’s sport and we want these distances to be shortened little by little, that more and more money and more prizes come to women’s football”.

Captain Irene Paredes considered today’s “a historic day“for women’s football and thanked the RFEF”his predisposition and his effort to reach such an important agreement and demonstrate with facts his interest in continuing to promote the senior team to the top”.
”The negotiation process has been long and as players we saw it as complicated, but reaching an agreement of such magnitude reinforces the idea and the commitment of the RFEF with the women’s section and especially with the players of the absolute”, he declared.
