André Carrillo’s message accompanied by his teammates from the Peruvian team | PHOTO

Defeats, like the one suffered by the Peruvian team against Australia, take time to be assimilated. In fact, that is the period that team members need to manifest themselves in some way. Thus, after 24 hours of engagement in Qatar, André Carrillo shared a post on his social networks.

“I love you Peru”, wrote the end of the Blanquirroja and added the emoticon of our flag to the post uploaded on Instagram. The photograph that the “Culebra” chose shows the entire squad that has fought since the beginning of the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and that was also in the final stage that concluded last Monday.

Carrillo started as a starter at the Ahmad bin Ali stadium. The striker, who was coming off a prolonged stoppage due to injury, was only on the pitch until the 65th minute. Edison Flores came on for André, who followed the rest of the intercontinental playoff alongside his teammates on the substitutes’ bench.

The arrival of the Peruvian team

There is pain for the defeat at the hands of Australia that left the Peruvian team without a World Cup, but that does not detract from the recognition of the team led by Ricardo Gareca. For this and more, the fans gave a warm welcome to the ‘Blanquirroja’, who arrived last Tuesday night from Qatar.

The delegation, with all the players who are active in Peruvian soccer, and some who are part of foreign teams, arrived in the country and felt the support of the Peruvian fans. Outside the air terminal, dozens of fans created a party atmosphere, with flares and music.

The Peruvian team lost (5-4) last Monday against the “Socceroos” in a penalty shootout, after a goalless draw that lasted until extra time. Gianluca Lapadula, Alexander Callens, Renato Tapia and Edison Flores scored and unfortunately Luis Advíncula and Alex Valera missed.
