Juan Carlos Oblitas maintained that “the issue of the guests” to Qatar “is handled by the Federation”

The match for the World Cup playoff of Peru vs. Australia was played in Doha and there was a long list of guests who were part of the Peruvian delegation, which is why a controversy was generated. Given this, Juan Carlos pointed out that the responsibility fell to the Peruvian Football Federation.

“The theme of the guests, that is handled by the Federation. This has happened a few other times and has nothing to do with the issue. At some point, the FPF will explain who are those who have traveled. I went directly to Doha. I don’t want to expand on the subject anymore because it doesn’t do us any good.”said the ‘Ciego’ at a press conference.

On the other hand, Juan Carlos Oblitas revealed how visibly affected Ricardo Gareca is by the elimination of the Peruvian National Team. For this reason, he called on the national fans to show support for a group that gave everything for the country.

“Let’s not go back to the culture of defeat and negativity. When I say that the team didn’t win because we didn’t play a good game, that’s in a personal capacity. I have sat in place of Ricardo (he is in a bad mood) and I explain to them that they understand me ”he added.

The renewal of Gareca

Juan Carlos Oblitas, sports director of the ‘Blanquirroja’, assured that there is a favorable outlook for Ricardo Gareca to continue on the bench of the Peruvian National Team.

“Ricardo Gareca is the right person to follow in the next four or five years. I left the meeting we had optimistic. It is normal that it takes a few days”revealed.

“I could not give a concrete answer about whether Ricardo Gareca is with the strength to continue commanding the Peruvian team”he added.
