Basketball player Caleb Swanigan died at the age of 25 after gaining 65 kilos in 36 months

Caleb Swanigan, who played in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Sacramento Kings, died at the age of 25 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the league reported Tuesday. The American died of natural causes, in the absence of further details.

Swanigan’s death occurred Monday night at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Swanigan spent two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played 45 official games.

After that, the basketball player nicknamed Biggie went to the Sacramento Kings. He was through 2019, serving a total of 10 games, to finally return to Portland.

Caleb passed away while off the field of play, as he played his last game on March 10, 2020, until the coronavirus pandemic hit.

It should be noted that the basketball player had to deal with his genetic and feeding problems; even a USA Today journalist argued that “One of the last times I saw him, one day of practice at the 2017 NCAA tournament in Kansas City, he was riding a stationary bike. He was wearing a sweatshirt, the kind wrestlers wear to lose weight before weigh-ins. Even then, a college athlete only 20 years old, Biggie was already fighting the natural inclinations of his body.”

The American was last seen after being found guilty of one less count in Whitley County. On that occasion, the weight gain that he registered was observed. At that time, Biggie weighed close to 200 kilos, an approximate 65 kilos more compared to his weight when he was still playing in the NBA.
