James Rodríguez already responded to Botafogo: the priority of the Colombian midfielder

This Saturday, the newspaper Al Raya of Qatar published in its printed edition that Al Rayyan accepted the offer presented by Botafogo (five million euros) for James Rodríguez. Along the same lines, the aforementioned medium pointed out that to close the deal, it was only necessary to know the response from the offensive midfielder.

Thus, the Colombian did not take long to pronounce on the matter. According to information from the journalist Fabrizio Romano, the ’10′ rejected the ‘Fogao’ proposal. The communicator, an expert in news related to the transfer market, pointed out that the South American “dreams of playing in Europe again”.

Of course, James Rodríguez’s priority is to leave Al Rayyan, Romano said. To add more details, Globo Esporte maintained that the ‘coffee grower’ will wait until an attractive proposal arrives to continue his career. For now, the player handles some alternatives, but it will take some time before taking the next step.

Likewise, after confirming conversations with the attacker, Botafogo ruled out a deal with Al Rayyan for the international. So far, the journalist Pipe Sierra revealed that the owner of the Rio de Janeiro cast, John Textor, spoke with the athlete to agree on details about his contract, but the former Monaco’s response was negative.

“James told me that he is looking for a new challenge. We talked, I hope I can convince you. But he’s not just a famous name, he has to play ball.”Textor told SporTV about a talk with the skilled footballer and his wishes before knowing the final position.

James Rodríguez left for Qatar football in mid-2021 and was linked until 2024. A year later, the South American expressed the desire to leave the institution that welcomed him. In all that period, the midfielder made 15 appearances in local tournaments in which he scored five goals and provided six assists.

If he lands a big offer, James will return to the ‘Old Continent’ a season after wearing Everton’s shirt in the English Premier League. Before, the Colombian went through Porto from Portugal, Monaco from France, Real Madrid from Spain and Bayern Munich from Germany. In this part of the planet, the player defended the colors of Envigado from his country and Banfield from Argentina.
