Problems for Battaglia: Carlos Zambrano received a red card after conflict in Boca Juniors vs. Union

The conflict in La Bombonera ended up costing Boca Juniors more. The ‘xeneizes’ fell at home to Unión de Santa Fe after a controversy over the visitors’ last goal. At the end of the game, a brawl broke out in which several players were involved, such as Luis Advíncula and Carlos Zambrano, however, it was the ‘Kaiser’ who ended up getting the worst of it.

According to the newspaper ‘Olé’, although the referee did not show any red card on the field of play, he did admonish Carlos Zambrano with a red card, as did Franco Troyansky; and, now, Battaglia must find a solution to cover the absence of the Peruvian.

Carlos Zambrano was reprimanded after abruptly pushing Troyansky, since, minutes before, the Union striker took off his shirt and showed it to the Boca Juniors fans to celebrate his goal, a fact that generated more than one discomfort

It should be noted that the referee Yael Falcón Pérez had taken a free kick for the ‘Tatengue’, on the edge of the area, and then the VAR determined that the maximum penalty should be sanctioned. From that moment, those led by Sebastián Battaglia began to protest angrily.

Finally, the foul was charged and goalkeeper Javier García stopped Franco Troyansky’s shot, but the action had to be repeated: the assistants in the technology zone noticed that the goalkeeper had come forward. On the second opportunity, the Unión de Santa Fe striker made no mistake and made it 2-1 in favor of his team.

The absences in Boca Juniors

Sebastián Battaglia, in addition to losing to Unión, lost a list of transcendental players for the next duel against Banfield. The Boca Juniors coach will not be able to count on Carlos Zambrano, nor Carlos Izquierdos who ended up expelled.

In addition, Nicolás Figal will be out of the squad due to injury and neither will Gastón Ávila, since he is in conflict with the club’s Football Council.
