Joel Raffo regarding Jhilmar Lora: “There is an Alliance proposal and we are going to evaluate it”

Sporting Cristal was characterized by promoting young players in recent seasons and Jhilmar Lora was one of the outstanding appearances. The 21-year-old right back made a big impact last year, but this season he hasn’t enjoyed much continuity and his permanence in Florida is in doubt.

This Monday, at a press conference, Joel Raffo, president of the Rímac club, revealed that there is an offer from Alianza Lima for the footballer. “Yes, there is a proposal they made to hire him. It is difficult to make a decision like this, because we listen to the athlete a lot”, stated the manager.

In addition, the highest authority of Sporting Cristal stressed that although the proposal “does not meet the claims”, will go to “evaluate the topic”. Let us remember that the transfer book in League 1 will close on July 10 and the institutions must accelerate the process to close agreements.

On the other hand, Joel Raffo also explained that the final determination regarding Lora’s future is difficult, due to his identification with the “Celestes”. “Jhilmar has been with the club since he was seven years old. Really, the affection and gratitude that there is is invaluable and enormous”, asserted the leader.

“I cannot say anything concretely (about Alianza Lima’s proposal), because it was recent. There are variables that we will take into consideration for such a relevant decision for us, and especially for Jhilmar”, concluded the president of Sporting Cristal.

Throughout the 2022 season, Jhilmar Lora made 11 appearances in the Torneo Apertura de Liga 1 (seven starts) and provided one assist. And in the Copa Libertadores, the right back was relegated and only played two games (only once from the start).
