Barcelona says goodbye to Adama Traoré and Luuk de Jong

Barcelona is focused on putting together the squad for next season, while the name of Robert Lewandowski is sounding strongly as a possible signing, the club confirmed two players who will not continue. Adama Traoré and Luuk de Jong say goodbye to the Barça team.

The Blaugrana institution announced that the Spanish striker will have to return to Wolverhampton, with whom he has a contract until June 2023. “Growed up at La Masia, with eight years in the academy, this was a homecoming for the speedy winger, who played 826 minutes in 21 games in 2021/22, ten of them as a starter”reads the statement.

In the same way, Barcelona said goodbye to the attacker from the Netherlands who contributed with seven goals and, now, will face a new challenge by wearing the PSV shirt of the Eredivisie. “He arrived on loan from Sevilla, he played 938 minutes of football in 29 games, ten of them as a starter”, the club noted.

De Jong could not shine in the Catalan team since, after the arrival of Aubameyang and the recovery of Depay, he had few opportunities in Xavi’s team. Now he hopes to get his revenge at Eindhoven.

De Jong dedicated a farewell message

Through his Twitter account, Luuk de Jong dedicated farewell words to the Barcelona fans. “Culers, it has been a special trip… I wish you the best in the future!”wrote the attacker and received the affection of the fans.
