A great scare was experienced this Sunday at the start of the British GP 2022 of Formula 1held at Silverstone, after the brutal accident suffered by Guanyu Zhou in the first round. The images of the crash went around the world and new videos appeared on social networks.
The Chinese Alfa Romero driver had an accident at the start and was out of the race. His car ended up on the other side of the security barriers, against the fences that separate the track from the spectators. And the brutal rollover was recorded from that corner of the British circuit.
Thai Alexander Albon (Williams) and Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Alpine) were also indirectly involved in the crash, with the former crashing into the barriers as he tried to slow down.
Zhou Guyanu and Albon, two of the drivers involved in an accident, moments after the start of the tenth round of the World Championship Formula 1they do not present “considerable injuries”, indicated the FIA.
According to the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the two drivers “were checked at the medical center.” Zhou is under observation while Albon “will be airlifted to Coventry hospital for tests as a precaution.”
As a result of the accident, the race was interrupted and a new start had to be made. It then resumed and ended with Carlos Sainz, Checo Pérez and Hamilton occupying the podium.
