PSG announces Christophe Galtier as its new technical director

Paris Saint-Germain announced that Christophe Galtier will assume the technical direction of the first team until June 30, 2024. The president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, presented the French strategist at a press conference on Tuesday.

After signing the contract, the new coach of the Parisian team expressed his emotion and sent a message to the fans. “We will have to work together to make people happy. If I have accepted this position it is because I am capable of doing it. It’s just hard. Together we are much stronger”he pointed.

“It is a privilege to have a squad of this level. World class players. We must have a common project without any compromise. It is an exciting job. There is no better place than Paris Saint-Germain to win trophies!” added the DT.

In this way, Christophe Galtier arrives at Paris Saint-Germain to replace Mauricio Pochettino who stopped being coach after a year and a half. The new coach has experience in Ligue 1 teams, having managed Saint-Étienne, Lille OSC and Nice.

At the helm of the ‘Greens’, he won the French League Cup (2012-2013), while he lifted the title of the local tournament with the ‘Mastines’. Now he hopes to conquer new trophies.

It is important to mention that Galtier has also been a technical assistant in teams such as Olympique de Marseille, Aris Thessaloniki (Greece), SC Bastia, Al Ain (United Arab Emirates), Portsmouth (England), Lyon and Sainte-Étienne.
