During the confrontation, Rafa’s father, Sebastián Nadal, made signs to his son from the stands asking him to leave so that his injury would not worsen. Despite his father’s request, the Spaniard decided to continue.

The Spanish Rafael Nadal overcame his abdominal pain and Taylor Fritz (3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (4)) to achieve a spectacular comeback and qualify for his eighth semifinals at Wimbledon .

Nadal, who suffered an abdominal injury that hampered him from the end of the first set, recovered from his physical problems and a nervous Fritz to maintain his undefeated status in Grand Slams this year (19-0) and schedule a duel in semifinals against Australian Nick Kyrgios.

″Something is not right in the abdominal”he acknowledged in statements after the end of the game. “I had to find a different way to serve. I was thinking in many moments that I could not finish. But this track gives you an energy… It’s something different.”Nadal said.

“It has been a difficult afternoon. Taylor is a great rival. Honestly, I really enjoy playing these games in front of an audience like this. I can’t thank you enough.”Rafa held.

The Spaniard will face Nick Kyrgios in the semifinals, but he is clear that he has to first “Being ready to play, that’s the first thing I think about.”
