Chivas was eliminated in the penalty shootout of the playoff of the 2022 Opening of the Liga MX at the hands of Puebla and generated the annoyance of the fans. In this sense, the Guadalajara club has already begun to make decisions for the next season and one of those is the departure of Ricardo Peláez.
The former soccer player will no longer continue as sports director of the club. This was announced by the sports institution through a statement that was published on its official website.
“We want to thank Ricardo for his work and dedication to his functions in the institution, from November 2019 until today. We are clear that the project stalled in sports results, and therefore the need to change its leadership “it reads.
During Ricardo Peláez’s stay at the club, coaches such as Luis Fernando Tena, Víctor Manuel Vucetich, Marcelo Michel Leaño and Ricardo Cadena passed by. However, none of them conquered the national title which eluded Chivas five years ago when they raised the 2017 Apertura under the command of Matías Almeyda.
We thank Ricardo Peláez for his commitment to Club Deportivo Guadalajara and we wish him success in his future projects.

Despite the loss of Chivas vs. Puebla: Ormeño scored in the penalty shootout for Guadalajara
A more than complicated game that did not end well for the Guadalajara team. Chivas lost in a penalty shootout against Puebla, but Santiago Ormeño managed to be an important part of the match, specifically in the last part.
Ormeño was the third in charge of shooting in the penalty shootout. The Peruvian striker scored with his left foot and a light shot to the left side of the Puebla goalkeeper’s goal.
