Unusual scene: arches were very large and they cut them before a match in England

Matchday 15 of the English Championship, the second division tournament, continued to be played this Sunday, when Hull City hosted Birmingham. The meeting was scheduled for 9:00 am (Peruvian time), but had to be delayed due to an unusual event: the arches of the MKM Stadium were very large and had to be shortened.

Referee Leigh Doughty and his assistants noticed that the goals looked higher than usual, so there was a measurement to confirm the hypothesis. After the analysis, it was confirmed that the goals were too high and the match could not start.

Immediately, the MKM Stadium maintainers began work to fix the problem: they removed the posts, brought in an electric mower and went on to trim off the extra inches. The work was done in a short time and the game was able to start at 9:23 am (Peruvian time).

Hull City, the local team, did not give further details of what happened and only indicated that the problem had to do with the size of the goals. In the end, the match proceeded normally and the victory was in the hands of Birmingham (0-2), with goals from Troy Deeney and Juninho Bacuna.

How are Hull City and Birmingham doing in the Championship?

Birmingham added its second consecutive victory and climbed to 12th place in the Championship, adding 19 points and remaining three behind Reading (6th), the last one to reach the playoffs for promotion. For its part, Hull City continues in a bad moment and remains with 14 points in box 21, avoiding relegation only by one unit.
