University legal advisor on the Andy Polo case: “It’s a personal matter for him”

Andy Polo received a sentence for domestic violence in the United States judicial system. This was confirmed by ESPN journalist Jeff Carlisie through his official Twitter account and in addition, the Universitario striker must pay $600,000 and an annual rate of 9%

The cream club’s legal advisor, Adrián Gilabert, referred to the subject during an interview with Movistar Deportes. When asked if there would be any sanction against the Peruvian player, the lawyer replied: “That is a personal issue for him. We have nothing to say about it.”

“I do believe that there should be a little more information on the matter because what has happened in the United States is not a sentence for an act of violence per se. I understand that the footballer and the legal part of him will explain what has happened, that it is not a sanction of violence ”he added.

It should be remembered that the player was denounced by his wife on May 23, 2021 in the United States. After learning that the footballer had an accusation against him, Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer decided to terminate the athlete’s contract in February of this year.

Later, Andy Polo signed at the beginning of this year for Universitario de Deportes. After a good performance in Liga 1 2022, the Peruvian national team coach, Juan Reynoso, called him up to replace Yoshimar Yotún for friendly matches in the United States against Mexico and El Salvador. Although, he missed those commitments due to injury.
