Between tears: José Carlos Fernández announced his retirement from football

Jose Carlos Fernandez, 39, announced his retirement from professional football. The striker made the news known by reading a statement on his social networks and could not hold back the tears when saying goodbye to him.

“The day has come to say goodbye. By closing a door, a stage, a long and beautiful road, I fulfilled my lifelong dream: to be a professional footballer. I enjoyed it to the fullest, I gave myself body, soul and mind, but above all with my heart, because what is done with passion comes from the heart”.

“Today I want to thank all the people who made this possible. To God for allowing me to fulfill my childhood dream. To my wife, who was always at the foot of the canyon, always ready for a new start. To my parents, because from the first day I told them I was going to be a footballer, they told me that if I was going to do it, to do it well. To my children, who always had to change schools. To my brother, who was always attentive.

“I feel very loved and I will carry that in my soul forever. Finally, thank you football for giving me 20 years of madness. I can say that dreams come true, but you have to work for that to happen. Total thanks, I’m leaving in peace, “added the footballer who still belongs to Carlos A. Mannucci.

José Carlos began his career as a professional soccer player in 2002 at Sport Coopsol. He would then wear the shirts of San Martín, Vallejo, Bolognesi, Cienciano, Alianza Lima and some foreign teams such as Chernomorets Odessa, Deportivo Quito and Argentinos Juniors. He was summoned to play the Qualifiers in Sergio Markarián’s stage.
