Riquelme confirms that Zambrano will continue in Boca Juniors: “He is going to renew”

Carlos Zambrano has earned the confidence in the scheme of coach Hugo Ibarra in Boca Juniors. Therefore, vice president and sports director of the Argentine cast, Juan Román Riquelme, said that the Peruvian defender will renew his contract with “Xeneize”.

“We are happy that Ramírez has renewed, and between tomorrow and next week Zambrano, who ends his contract at the end of the year, will also renew with Boca”mentioned the manager during an interview with ESPN.

In this regard, Riquelme pointed out that not only is work being done on the renewal of the Peruvian soccer player but also of other players such as Frank Fabra. Although, he stressed that, for now, he remains focused for the commitment against Independiente for the Argentine Professional League.

“A lot of work is being done on this issue. From Monday we will think about the players who are on loan and what decision we are going to make. For now, we are working very excited about the match we have on Sunday”he pointed.

As it is recalled, in recent weeks different Argentine media announced a possible departure of the Peruvian soccer player. However, the main intention of the blue and gold team is to continue counting on the services of the center-back, who has been adding minutes in the last matches of the local tournament.

Carlos Zambrano: performance against Gymnastics

In his last game against Gimnasia, the ‘Kaiser’ played for 90 minutes. According to the data provided by sofascore, the center-back won seven of nine duels. In addition, he had a 78% passing rate, achieving a rating of 7.4, a figure that placed him as one of the most outstanding players in the match against the ‘Triperos’.
