James Rodríguez left Everton, but Lampard praised the footballer and regrets that he is not at the English club

He accepted that he would be an important piece in his team. James Rodríguez is playing for Olympiakos in Greece, but a while ago he was a member of Everton. The Colombian soccer player left the team after his little continuity and, now, Frank Lampard admitted that he would be a good piece in the English club.

James Rodríguez said goodbye to Everton when Rafa Benítez, since the manager decided not to have him and was even on the bench for half of that season. Now, without the Colombian soccer player, nor the Spanish coach, the situation is different.

Frank Lampard took over as Everton’s new coach and in a press conference he referred to the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a player who was injured and is barely recovering.

After the striker’s comment, the ‘Toffees’ coach was consulted by James Rodríguez and what his absence from the English team means.

“Yeah, sure, but whether it’s an adjustment in formation or not. James was a very particular type of player, the type of player in all honesty that we don’t have right now and that’s it.”Lampard said.

However, he did refer to his current recovered player. “The types of goals he can score, his strengths, his speed, his aerial ability,” Lampard said of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

James Rodriguez numbers

Despite not having a good farewell, the truth is that James Rodríguez was important in his arrival at Goodison Park. The Colombian scored 16 goals in the 2020/21 season with Everton and came to play 23 games in the Premier League.
