FIFA approved the dates of the U-17 World Cup to be held in Peru

The 20th session of the FIFA Council approved the dates for the U-17 World Cup to be held in Peru next year. This was confirmed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) through a statement on its website and social networks.

In that sense, the governing body of world football specified that the tournament will be held between November 10 and December 2. In that time, the 24 participating teams (the ‘Blanquirroja’ is the one that has the guaranteed quota for being the host and the others are missing) will fight to lift the long-awaited trophy.

It is important to mention that this competition was going to be played in 2021, according to the FIFA calendar. However, the date was changed due to the pandemic.

Likewise, it should be remembered that this will be the second time that Peru hosts the U-17 World Cup. In 2005, they were the host and shared a group with Ghana, Costa Rica and China, but were eliminated after drawing against the African team and adding defeats against the ‘Ticos’ and the Asian team, respectively.
