Shakhtar Donetsk asks FIFA to exclude Iran from the 2022 World Cup: the club asks Ukraine to be the substitute

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will begin in less than a month and the 32 qualified teams have already started their preparation. However, Shakhtar Donetsk has requested that Iran be excluded from the tournament due to the attacks on Ukraine, Sergei Palkin, the club’s CEO, said on social media.

The manager explained his position through the Twitter of the sports institution: “While the leaders have fun watching their team play in the World Cup, Ukrainians will die under Iranian drones and missiles. Almost 250 of those drones have already attacked peaceful cities in Ukraine.”

“Each of these (drones) were produced, delivered by the Iranian authorities, Iranian instructors and the military directly trained and managed drone launches that destroyed houses, museums, universities, offices, sports fields and playgrounds and, what more importantly, they killed Ukrainians,” express.

In this sense, Palki requests that the place of Iran be occupied by Ukraine. “This will be a fair decision that should draw the attention of the whole world to a regime that kills its best people and helps kill Ukrainians.”he added.

In the same way, the director invited the other countries to join this request. “This decision is historically and sportingly justified”accurate.
