They receive and give blows in the name of Peru. These women play contact sports and each one has proven that she is worthy of our pride. With the passing of time, they made a name for themselves and took the flag of our country to the top. Now at the DT Anniversary Awards we have the opportunity to recognize these women and choose the best of the last three decades.

Kina Malparted

For years Kina Malpartida dominated the boxing rings at an international level. The national athlete had an excellent sports career and became a symbol of Peruvian boxing. Her greatest achievement was when she was crowned world champion in the super featherweight category in 2009. This led her to receive the Sports Laureles. She defended her title five times until she announced her retirement.

Yanet Sovero

He is one of the main figures of the struggle in our country. Yanet Sovero was one of the pioneers in this sport, participating in two world championships and in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She has won many important titles and has been crowned South American champion in 2013 and 2015. She also won the silver medal at the Toronto Pan American Games. 2015. In the last edition of the Asunción 2022 South American Games, Sovero won the bronze medal and announced his retirement from professional sports after a career marked by success.

Thalia Mallqui

Since she was 17 years old, Thalía Mallqui has dedicated herself to the practice of wrestling. Her passion for this sport has led her to represent Peru in multiple international championships: silver medal at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games and bronze in Lima 2019. In addition, she has been Bolivarian champion in 2017. This 2022 she won the bronze medal in the Bolivarianos de Valledupar and the silver medal at the South American Games in Asunción.

Julissa Diez Canseco

The Peruvian athlete is a benchmark of national taekwondo. She has been Pan American runner-up at the Guadalajara Games in 2011. She also has four bronze medals at the Pan American Championship of her sport in 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2018. She made her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games where she won the seventh place in the competition.

Today the name of Alexandra Grande is synonymous with karate in our country. She is a two-time Pan American champion: title won in Toronto 2015 and Lima 2019. She has been world champion in 2017 and was an Olympian in her sport debut in Tokyo 2020, obtaining an Olympic diploma for her great performance. She is the holder of the Sports Laureles, she has a great 2022 where she has been crowned runner-up at the World Games and gold medal at the South American Games in Asunción where she qualified for the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.
