Xavi Hernández is honest before the cameras: “The elimination of the Champions has affected us”

Barcelona struggled to beat Valencia, but did so in the final minutes thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s goal. In this way, Xavi Hernández’s squad vindicated themselves with their fans after being beaten at the hands of Bayern Munich in the middle of the week in the Champions League.

After the match, the coach of the azulgrana team expressed that being left out of the international tournament influenced the performance of his team. This is how he was honest before the cameras of DAZN.

“It was a very important victory for us. The team has not stopped believing, but I think we played with anxiety. Wednesday has weighed. The (elimination) of the Champions has affected us: the last decision-making, the last step. When we had to pass, we shot and vice versa”, he pointed.

However, the Spanish coach highlighted the efforts of his players. “The players deserve it and we have been better than Valencia. We deserved the victory”he added.

On the other hand, the DT specified that he is now focused on the matches that Barcelona lacks before the stoppage of the tournament due to the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. “We have one game left in the Champions League and two in the League. And we want to put pressure on Madrid, so we are very happy today, very much”he mentioned.

How is Barcelona doing in LaLiga Santander?
