Christian Cueva on Piero Quispe: “He is a player who is going to contribute a lot to the national team”

The Peruvian team continues its preparation with a view to the friendly matches against Paraguay and Bolivia. Although there is still no official list of the players that Juan Reynoso will have, all those who have been training at La Videna for a few days have done their best to stay in the relationship. One of them is Piero Quispe, of whom Christian Cueva had words of praise.

He is a little boy who is very humble. As I said at some point, it brings back many memories when I see it. He was pleasing to me when he wrote to me on Instagram. Immediately, I answered him and now, having him close, one is already getting to know a little more about each one of the companions”began by saying ‘Aladdin’, at a press conference.

Cueva, immediately afterwards, assured that Quispe will contribute to the ‘Blanquiroja’. “He is a tremendous player, he is a player who is going to contribute a lot to the national team. I follow the league and see him in his club. The things he does is to admire. The personality that he has. Yesterday, in the game we had, it was clear what Piero wants to give to the team. I feel that the moment will come. God is going to give him the opportunity there, where he can develop as he knows how.”commented.

Likewise, the player who plays for Al Fateh highlighted what Andy Polar has been doing in training. “He also has that characteristic of the Peruvian player, mischievous, who likes to always have the ball, but many things have to be added to that, the physical aspect, because nowadays football is like that. That is what Juan wants, for Peruvian football to grow together with the national team and that is important.”he pointed.

On the other hand, Cueva left a clear message regarding the issue of penalties, with the bad memory of the wrong shot in the World Cup in Russia against Denmark.

“The subject of penalties will always be something that I will want. I’m going to catch the ball and I’m going to kick. Afterwards, much will depend on the decision made by the coach. In particular, I’m not going to lie to you, at some point in my life, after the World Cup in Russia, like anyone else, I felt bad, but not because of the penalty itself, but because perhaps I had the certainty and the illusion of continuing to advance. Later, things happened to me and I was able to recover, because I had the support of my family, my wife, my children, my parents and, above all, God. Right now, I’m pretty cool about it. It doesn’t cross my mind what they can say if I kicked a penalty or not. I’m going to grab it and, if you don’t like it, let it go…” sentenced the 30-year-old athlete.

When are the next friendlies for Peru?
