Guillermo Salas mentalizes in Melgar vs. Alianza Lima: “The squad is 10 points”

Alianza Lima is already in Arequipa to face this Wednesday the first leg final against Melgar at the UNSA Monumental Stadium (3 pm). Those led by Guillermo Salas, who won the title of the Closing Tournament, seek the two-time League 1 championship.

In that sense, the strategist of the blue and white team assured that he is psyched up in the commitment. “With much encouragement and all the desire. The squad is 10 points for the match”declared to the GOLPERÚ cameras after arriving with the team at the Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón airport.

In the same way, he thanked the intimate fans who staged a nice reception. “It’s a tremendous emotion that people are here too”clarified Salas who assumed the technical direction in replacement of Carlos Bustos after the match against Cantolao.

It is important to mention that the return match is scheduled for Saturday at 8 pm (Peruvian time). On that occasion, Alianza Lima will receive Melgar in Matute and, in that place, the national champion of that season will be decided.

How is the champion of League 1 2022 defined?

The first criterion to define the champion between Alianza Lima vs. Melgar is the number of points in the finals: the team that wins one match and draws the other will receive the title. In the event that each club has obtained a victory, the squad that has scored the most goals will receive the trophy (away goals have no extra value).

If equality persists (also in case of ties in both matches), the duel will go directly to the penalty round. There will be no overtime.
