Hernán Barcos thinks about the second leg: “We have to do our part in Matute”

Melgar stayed with the first leg after beating Alianza Lima 1-0 at the UNSA Monumental, however, the key is open, since the Arequipa side must visit Matute this Saturday (8 pm). The blue and white striker, Hernán Barcos, knows that he must respect the home side and achieve the comeback to win the 2022 League 1 title.

The ‘Pirate’ also analyzed the defeat of his team. “It is not the result that we came to look for, we lacked to propose a little more, to be a little more aggressive but it is what we have to do. Now on Saturday at home we have to leave everything to turn this around”, declared the ‘Pirate’ in an interview with GOLPERU.

Along the same lines, the Argentine striker is already psyched up in the second leg. “It’s a 180-minute match, the first one they won 1-0 and now in Matute we have to do our part”, pointed.

Likewise, Barcos also referred to the missed opportunity in the final minutes. “It was a nice play, the issue of hitting from height is still not clear to me. The times that I have had to define it has always gone over the top. On Saturday we have to do our part and win there”.

On the other hand, the attacker thanked all the fans who took the time to travel to Arequipa to support them in this first duel. “They always accompany us, they leave everything in each game and we are not going to be less”, concluded.

Let us remember that Alianza Lima and Melgar will meet again this Saturday, November 12, in the second leg, at the Alejandro Villanueva de Matute Stadium (8 pm).
