University of Sports renewed Jorge Murrugarra: the new agreement signed by the midfielder

More moves on the campus of Universitario de Deportes. This Friday, the club announced that Jorge Murrugarra will continue to wear the cream shirt. Through a message on social networks, the student cast specified that the midfielder signed a new contract until 2024. The previous link expired this year.

Immediately, the ‘U’ provided details in a statement in which they stated that “The sports management valued the dedication, sacrifice and good play of the midfielder throughout the campaign to continue counting on him for two more years”.

Likewise, Universitario highlighted the performance of Murrugarra in the season that ended. “In the year, our first team player achieved more than 65% of duels won, between aerials and ground level, becoming one of the players with the best records in that position”add note.

Jorge, who passed through the ranks of Ayacucho FC, lived a season in which he could not add minutes at the start of the Apertura and Clausura. In the first competition of the year, the midfielder just made his debut on matchday six against Cienciano and completed eleven matches. In the classic against Alianza Lima he was among the substitutes and was not against Sporting Cristal due to suspension.

Although Murrugarra started in the second championship of 2022, the midfielder missed the next seven games and returned on matchday nine against his former team. Since then, he did not move anymore and added 11 games.

In short, the midfielder who will continue in the ‘U’ played 22 League 1 games and another in the previous round of the Copa Libertadores against Barcelona from Ecuador. In total, Jorge accumulated 1,450 minutes and saw six yellow cards throughout the year.
