Sports betting: Ivan Tony (Brentford) accused of betting on English matches 232 times

Brentford striker Ivan Tony has been charged with 232 violations of the rules prohibiting players from betting on sports, according to British media. The alleged facts allegedly took place between 2017 and 2021. Now the player is in the field of view of the FA (English Federation). Ivan Tony, suspected of having bet 232 times on Premier League and Second Division matches, has been charged with misconduct in connection with alleged violations of the FA’s betting rules.

“The Brentford striker is said to have violated FA Rule E8 232 times between 25 February 2017 and 23 January 2021. Ivan Toni has until Thursday, November 24, 2022 to give an answer,” the federation’s press release states.

He is not the first player to have problems with the authorities because of the stakes. In 2021, Kieran Trippier was suspended for 10 weeks for providing insider information about a transfer.
