Champions League: Will Sadio Mane recover to face PSG with Bayern?

Today, all the people mourn the absence of their hero at the World Cup. Senegal, deprived of Sadio Mane, second in the last Ballon d’Or to Chelsea striker Karim Benzema, has yet to recover. And tomorrow it may be the turn of Bayern Munich fans to tremble. According to German publication Bild, the assailant underwent surgery on his fibula on Thursday, which will keep him out for about three months.

With this delay, therefore, his participation in the Champions League play-off against PSG remains uncertain, while Bayern Munich are due to face the Parisian club on February 14 in Paris in the first leg and on March 8 in Bayern in the second leg.

On November 8, in the Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen (6:1), the Senegalese colossus was hit in the right fibula during contact with Amos Pieper. At a press conference this Thursday, Senegal’s doctor Manuel Afonso returned to the striker’s package: “After Sadio Mane’s injury, we contacted Bayern Munich to get preliminary information,” he said. And the next day, the club sent us pictures of his first MRI, which showed an injury to his right knee. And for that they invited us to go and study the player and re-examine the images in the club. »

2002 World Cup quarter-finalists Senegal will take on the Netherlands on Monday in their first World Cup match. Once in Group A, he will then challenge the host country, Qatar (November 25) and then Ecuador (November 29).
