Must-See Poster: Victor Wembanyama Fully in Ile-de-France Derby

BASKETBALL. Earlier this week, Vincent Collet was with Pascal Donnadier in the same polo shirt as the French team. The coach and his deputy qualified the French team for the 2023 World Cup. This Sunday at 19:00 (live on BeINSport) in the Marseille-Cerdan sports hall in Levallois, two accomplices will meet face to face. coach Metz 92, second Nanterre. The ’92 Derby is back and it’s sure to be special. Sold out like all Metz games – tickets for the game in Nancy a few days later left in a few minutes – this edition is sure to be special. Always because of the same person: Victor Vembanyama. The child prodigy finds his debut club. Count on him to celebrate the evening.

Event not to be missed: rugby show at Paris La Défense Arena

RUGBY IN 7. Races, challenges, spectacular gestures… If you love airy, lively rugby, you should have a good time on Saturday during the SuperSevens at the Paris Défense Arena. This is the grand final of the French professional rugby sevens championship. After three qualifying rounds this summer, only eight teams remain in the provinces, including the two Île-de-France clubs Stade Français and Racing 92. French barbarians, title holders, Parisians will not be favorites for the quarter-finals, but can count on former France 7 captain Terry Buraua.

Note the “son’s” duel during this match between Mathis Galtier, the son of the coach who plays with Babaas, and Kelan Giroud, the son of Blues director Thibaut Giroud. Racing, unlike Bordeaux-Begl in the quarter-finals, is an experienced team with players with experience in the Top 14, including Antoine Gibert, Olivier Clemenchak or English racketeer Christian Wade. The competition will be followed by an evening with a DJ.

Friday duel: Proleague held its breath

HANDBALL. The news of this start to the weekend is happening for the first time in the Elite lobby with a remote duel between teams from the region. On the final day, Ponto Combo, which was the last undefeated professional club, fell to Sarbur. So Pontellua was joined at the top of the standings by Tremblay, who was coached by Sheriff Hamani, a defector from Ponto during the off-season. Two Île-de-France leaders play at home and at the same time (20:30) this Friday: Tremblay welcomes Massy (11th), still capable of sparking, while Ponto receives Frontignan (4th), unexpectedly received a promotion.

In Starliga, PSG (still deprived of Nikola Karabatic) travel to Chartres this Friday (11th). A likely victory for Elohim Prandi (who just extended his loan until 2026) will put the French champions in first place in the standings, pending the results of the other two leaders, Nantes and Montpellier, who play this Saturday. Finally, Ivry (14th) should not miss at home against Nimes (8th) and Créteil (13th) will be in Season-Rennes (4th) on Monday.
