Teammates of Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal deny conflicts within the national team

Cristiano Ronaldo went all out against Manchester United in a controversial interview with journalist Piers Morgan. Just days before the premiere in Qatar 2022, the striker’s words seem to have affected the harmony of the Portugal team. On Fernando Santos’ list there are two players who belong to the ranks of the ‘Red Devils’: Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

In fact, an image in which ‘CR7’ greeted Fernandes went viral on social networks, but he (captain of the ‘Red Devils’) responded coldly. Then, from that scene, there was speculation regarding a short circuit that could affect the Portuguese cast with a view to their participation in the World Cup.

Despite the number of stories that have come out in recent days, two members of the national team took it upon themselves to deny everything. In a press conference, Ruben Neves and Bernardo Silva revealed that there are no problems with Cristiano or with another of the footballers that Santos called for the World Cup.

“There is no controversy in our dressing room”, advanced Neves, Wolverhampton midfielder of the Premier League. Immediately afterwards, the midfielder assured the Portuguese fans that the whole team is focused on playing a great role. “Everything is talked about. We are one hundred percent focused on the World Cup and there is a spectacular atmosphere”.

In turn, Bernardo Silva dismissed everything that appeared in the international press. “I don’t see anything strange in the Portuguese team with Cristiano Ronaldo. Personally, I think that these are things that have happened in the clubs and have nothing to do with it here.” clarified the Manchester City attacker at a press conference.

The medium, like the rest of his colleagues, focuses on the great challenge that comes in the following weeks. “We come here to win. We are very confident for this World Cup. We believe that we can do important things. We know it will be difficult and we are ready for it”he declared.

How does Cristiano Ronaldo arrive at Qatar 2022?

The striker has not played an official match since last November 6. That day, the attacker spent 90 minutes in Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa. He did not appear on the list to face the same rival, but in the League Cup, nor against Fulham at the close of the Premier League before Qatar 2022.

Despite the inactivity, Neves announced that the Portugal captain seems to be physically whole. “From what I’ve seen in training, Cristiano is in spectacular shape. The collective has to work very well for individualities to stand out. And with Cristiano it’s no different.”he explained.
