Rainer Torres’ unmissable response to FIFA for a publication with a photo of ‘Leo’ Messi

Rainer Torres put an end to his career in 2016, but he always remained close to soccer in one way or another. Now with the start of the Qatar World Cup, the former soccer player was attentive to social networks and left an unmissable response to FIFA for a publication that included an image of Lionel Messi.

“Legends taking their first steps in a FIFA World Cup”was the title that the governing body of world football put on Facebook, in a post that shared images of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Thomas Müller, in the early years of their careers.

The curious thing was that Rainer Torres also appeared in the postcard starring the Argentine star, at the time he was a member of the Peruvian team. This made the ‘Motorcito’, demonstrating his good sense of humor, reply to FIFA.

“Thank you FIFA for putting me among your legends. The envious will say that it is only because of Messi, but FIFA and I know the truth”, Torres wrote on Twitter, with a fun emoji.

That image in which Messi and Torres were seen is from October 9, 2005, the day Peru and Argentina met, for the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. In that match, the “Albiceleste” won 2-0, thanks to a goal by Juan Román Riquelme and an own goal by Luis Guadalupe.
