Rodrigo Ureña arrived in Peru to close his incorporation with Universitario

Universitario de Deportes has as its main objective to lift the national title of Liga 1 2023 and also aims to advance in the Copa Sudamericana. For this reason, the cream box has already begun to strengthen and this Monday a foreign element arrived in Peru that will contribute with his talent in the midfield: Rodrigo Ureña.

After his arrival in Lima, the 29-year-old Chilean midfielder posed with the merengue shirt for the cameras of TV Peru. The player, who played the 2022 season at Deportes Tolima, will close his incorporation with the cream institution in the coming days.

During an interview with Ovationthe sports director of Universitario, Manuel Barreto, confirmed the interest in the popular ‘Pitbull’. “He has just arrived in Peru, he is already with us so in the next few days we will have news”he pointed.

Rodrigo Ureña consolidated himself in Deportes Tolima where he played 45 games, among which he scored 3 goals and recorded 3 assists. Before, his best game was against Cortuluá, in May of this year, when he scored, blew up the net on one occasion and had a pass for the victory (3-2).

University: reinforcements for this season

The cream team has announced Martín Pérez Guedes, José Rivera, Hugo Ancajima and José Luján as new players for 2023.
