For a moment, this Netherlands reminded us of the old Holland. In Qatar 2022 already reached the quarterfinals by beating the United States 3-1 with goals from Memphis DePayDaley Blind, who plays with a defibrillator attached to his chest, and the third for Dumfries.
Memphis Depay once again celebrated a World Cup goal. In 2014 he scored 2 goals in that team that reached third place, but in which he only started in one of the four games where he said present.
And Depay has a link to Peruvian soccer. Precisely with Jefferson Farfán of whom it is now announced that he is about to retire from professional soccer. The Dutch attacker grew up admiring La Foquita, when the national shone at PSV.

And Memphis Depay himself said that he had Jefferson Farfán as an idol. He did it after a friendly between Peru and the Netherlands in 2018. “When I was 12 years old, I used to watch Farfán play for PSV: I was playing in the children’s club and I would go to the stadium to see him,” the Dutchman told Movistar Deportes.
Jefferson Farfán arrived at PSV in 2004 and was part of a golden age for the club, in which they managed to win the four-time Eredivisie championship. By the time the Peruvian arrived, Depay was barely 10 years old. “I had to get the ball to Farfán for the corners. He doesn’t remember me, but I do remember him. As a boy, he was fun, ”said the attacker, who is now a figure in Qatar 2022.
Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the Netherlands against the United States, with his first goal in Qatar 2022. He will no longer remember those times when he admired Farfán, but surely when he reviews his career, he will find a poster of the Peruvian in his box of memories.
