Boxing: ‘You’re next, sausage’, fury’s insane provocation ahead of Usyk fight

This is one of the little tricks that Tyson Fury has a secret to. Sweet words to the British boxer, the owner of the WBC belt. After playing against his compatriot Derek Chisora, the giant asked Oleksandr Usyk, who was present in the hall of the Tottenham Hot Spurs stadium, to join him in the ring. The Ukrainian, the WBA-IBF-WBO champion, was absolutely unfazed and went one on one with his likely future rival for the unification of all belts in the heavyweight division.

The beginning of what we slightly suspected was a small verbal skirmish between the two men. We hear Tyson Fury refer to Anthony Joshua, whom Usyk defeated last August by decision of the judges: “You may have beaten a bodybuilder, but I’m not a bodybuilder, I’ll kick you out.” The gypsy king also called the Ukrainian “little ***” or “little rabbit” several times before attacking his rival’s physique: “You ugly 95-kilogram man, come on! You’re next, sausage! I have already beaten the Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko. »

“We will meet again,” Usyk promised him straight in the eye that it would be the first unification fight for the English heavyweight since Lennox Lewis. Because the fight against another Briton, Anthony Joshua, the former WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion, could not be organized. It was Usyk who overthrew Joshua from the throne in September 2021, depriving him of three belts. He defeated him again last August in Saudi Arabia but was not ready to face Fury this year.

Fight to be held in Saudi Arabia

Before this episode, Tyson Fury had a great start to the evening by retaining his WBC belt against Derek Chisora, whom he had already dominated twice in his career. With the score at 20:1, the gypsy king seemed to be in control, even leaving the impression that he was making the last fight against the 38-year-old boxer (1.87m, 33 wins, 13 losses).

Instead, Fury hoped to face Anthony Joshua, but the latter pulled out of the fight. So the next final fight is Tyson Fury vs Usyk. “Everything is settled,” confirms Alexander Krasyuk, the promoter of the Ukrainian. It will probably be in Saudi Arabia. If not, we have many other options. It’s the biggest heavyweight championship in history and it won’t be hard to find a spot for it. The competition has been launched and may take place in Riyadh next March.
