Rugby: South African world champion missing from his club

Anxiety is growing in South Africa. Blue Bulls franchise winger and 2019 South African world champion S’busiso Nkosi has been dead since November 11. This Saturday, his club explained in a press release that he has not been able to hear from his international striker since the beginning of November (26 years, 16 caps). Therefore, the South African Championship franchise reported his disappearance to the local police, who have since launched an investigation.

“Nkosi’s last known contact with a manager, employee or team is dated Friday, November 11, 2022,” the Blue Bulls said in a press release. However, the franchise spared no effort to find their player, who was supposed to take part in the autumn tour of Europe, which means to meet the XV of France on November 12 in Marseille.

Injured, he was unable to join the South African group. The club claims to have made “numerous unsuccessful attempts that include phone calls, text messages, calls to relatives, partners and close friends, and four visits to its known residence.” With no news from their player, the franchise “made the decision to report his disappearance to the police.”

In the 2019 World Champions group, the South African managed to participate in two meetings in the group stage before taking a place on the bench behind Cheslin Kolbe. Nkosi did start the semi-final, won against Wales (19-16) in the absence of an injured Kolbe. Hoping this isn’t his last great feat with the Springboks. His most recent pick dates from October 2021 against South Africa. He scored nine tries for the Springboks.
