Samuel Eto’o apologized for “losing his temper” and assaulting a subject at the World Cup

Last Monday night, Samuel Eto’o kicked Saduni SM, a well-known Algerian youtuber, after being questioned about the controversy surrounding Cameroon’s qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after the agonizing victory in the extra time over Algeria (1-2). After what happened, the retired soccer player published a letter of repentance, titled “My sincere apologies.”

“Last December 5, after the Brazil-South Korea match, I had a violent altercation with a person who was probably an Algerian fan. I would like to apologize for losing my temper and reacting in a way that does not match my personality.”began the now president of the Cameroonian Football Federation.

In the same way, Samuel Eto’o referred to the constant attacks against the representative of the ‘Indomitable Lions’ for his pass to the World Cup: “I apologize to the public for this unfortunate incident. I pledge to continue resisting the relentless provocation and daily harassment of some Algerian supporters. In fact, since the Cameroon-Algeria match on March 29 in Blida, I have been the target of insults and allegations of cheating without evidence”.

“During this World Cup, the Cameroonian fans have been harassed and harassed by the Algerians on the same subject. I would like to mention that the scenario of Algeria’s defeat was cruel, but perfectly in line with the rules and ethics of our sport. All appeals filed by the Algerian Football Federation before the competent jurisdictions have been dismissed.”he added.

It is worth mentioning that Saduni SM, the victim in the incident, revealed that he suffered various injuries and has filed a complaint for assault against Samuel Eto’o. In addition, the youtuber indicated that his camera and microphone were destroyed, which is why he added material damage to his accusation against the authorities.
